It sure would be nice if somebody over there would record this and upload it somewhere for us over here.

Us poorly paid public-sector workers can't afford Sky........

.....so if someone were to record it and send it me in whatever format you like (or upload it on a torrent site), I could produce a 'limited run' of DVDs for anyone else who ain't got access to Sky TV.
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

Dapinky (et al),

I've set my Sky+ box to record it. Once it's on there, my technical abilities just about stretch to playing it back and using the DVD recorder to write it to a disk.

I'm more than happy to do so, and then post the disk to you, so that you can do with it as you wish........just let me know where you'd like it sent.

Cheers,

Martin.

PS.... any specific format of DVD preferred/acceptable ( + / - R / RW ) :?:

PPS..... 'uploading onto a torrent site', sounds like Devilish computer stuff  .... far too clever for me  .... perhaps someone else could have a bash at that :?:

For those on Virgin its Channel 545.

I'm also V+ ing it and can dump that straight to my PC. Unfortunately I've not got any blank DVD's I can however attempt a torrent.

Edit: Right its on my PC, currently converting to MPEG

Watched it, and Sky+d it too!

No mention or sight of M100 at all, albeit interesting in terms of early history, F1 days, Classic Team Lotus and Evora development. Defo worth keeping a copy.

Thought Clive Chapman did well, not sure about him holding a dodgy tea mug though!

I can tell I've not done this before... I've now got a hefty 2.3GB DVD quality MPEG file. Lets see if I can cut the adverts and compress it a bit!! :-D

Edit: Bugger, Vista Media Center seems to have stuffed up the recording by somehow recording the first half twice!! I'll have to re-import it onto the PC which will mean replaying the entire episode!!

Edit 2: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Currently Publishing a compressed format minus adverts, expect a torrent tomorrow.

Yay, 388MB AVI produced.

Edit: Err, try that, renamed file as .torrent, Mods delete if torrents are not allowed as the board will not let me upload them

just watched it......mmmm....
it was ok......
they sort of skipped from the 70's to the elise.....seem to have forgotten about the 80's and 90's....
a stevens esprit appeared but only coz it was the car the president of CLF was driving that day....otherwise no m100, eclat, excel.....I reckon they fell out with guigaro and peter stevens before filming......

I hope GUKs file works...

cheers
G

I've downloaded G's file and am attempting to get the whole lot through Azureus. It's pretty slow as there are no seeds or peers out there at the moment.

There should be at least one seed, me :-D

I'll leave my PC on for the next few days so it should be available, I've just got back in and see I've uploaded 102MB to somebody.

I'm seeding now; I've set up the torrent on my garage computer so I can leave it up as long as need be. No takers yet, though.

Correction: I'm trying to seed now. Having router issues on the home network...

Just downloaded this and seeding thanks a lot G UK and anyone else who's seeding. My seeding is a bit useless as I have a low upload speed but will push this if I see anyone downloading.

Thanks again,

You don't search for it - scroll up, download G UK's torrent file (renaming the .doc to .torrent) and double click the file. It'll open up your torrent software, find the tracker and seeders, and begin the download.

Thanks to G-UK for the upload

I've now got the torrent downloaded and saved as an .AVI file - currently processing through NERO to make it into a DVD (or VCD if it is small enough!).

The compression you used was good enough to give a good quality .AVI so I don't envisage any problems with creating a good quality (technically, not necessarily creatively!) watchable disc.

As such, if there is anyone out there who would like a copy, and you either didn't record it, or don't know what to do with the 'black art' of .torrents files, then by all means start a list and I'll knock up some copies for you.

Delivery by the usual methods ( collect from Donny, Castle Combe, LEC courier services or Postage at cost price) - international not a problem  .

So as not to get this thread off topic, I'm going to post in the computer/IT help area. Please, if you're knowledgeable about torrents, have a look. i need some help.
