There's a good thread from our LEF cousins too, with Kimbers sourcing some info from his dad, MJK:

Good question clemo, they say it's due in 2008... not one spy photo or any info yet :? as an ex Elise owner wanting something comfortable I'm looking forward to hearing about it! Probably have to rob a bank to get one down here tho :(
I wonder what color the next one will be?

Hi, cjay. :smt006

Sorry to hear you no longer have the Elise. Chiropractor bills got too high to allow you to keep it then? Does this mean you are Lotusless? Keep a look out for a nice Elan.

What are you driving now? Anything we'd be interested in?

G'day John

Yep, sadly I'm Lotusless at the moment :( The physio bills were getting ridiculous, the Elsie had to go, plus I sold it for more than I paid :-D

I am keeping an eye out for a decent Elan. There are rumors of a new Satria GTI being badged as a Lotus, could be fun and hopefully not crazy money, the price of new Lotuses here is outrageous :(

I don't think anyone would be interested in my current car, it's a new MX 5 (flame away guys) After spending 10 years of copying the original Elan it's not a bad car. It has no soul though and a bit hard to love like an Elan.

Similar pics have been around for a few months now. Most people were saying its the new Lotus with old Esprit body panels serving as the mule. Impossible to get any sense of what it will look like although the suggesiton is that it will use many of the styling cues from the now defunct M250.
