Hmm,

Isn't the mix of colours a bit strange... I realise that silver/greys are the 'in' colour at the moment but:

4 orange/yellow variants
3 reds
3 blues
6 white/silvers
2 blacks (or something like)
2 greens

If that press release is to be believed, the car has been designed with preference given to the female of the species, perhaps this may have something to do with the strange colours ?

well I've been thinking Lotus is cool ever since I toured the factory and saw some Elises in weird colours; When I asked about them they told me they'd paint your Lotus in whatever colour you wanted . . .

Having looked at the magazines, and Surferphil's shots from Earls Courts, I suppose I'm at least pleased that they didn't use the seven double-spoke wheels that they put on the full-sized clay buck, but instead used the more understated five double spoke wheels.

Don't get me wrong, it's very, very close to being a very pretty car, but edge styling is so yesterday, and so ..... well chavvy, really. You wouldn't see an Aston or a Jag with sharp creases along the front wings. A little more Elan and a little less Elise would have made this a better looking car. And that silly side window to rear window 'join' just looks silly.

Lurking on page 022 of Evo is a photo of a scale model of an earlier incarnation of the design, and to my eye, there are elements of it that look nicer than the real car.

I searched high and low for a bigger version of the pic, without luck.

Curiously, I'm watching Top Gear on BBC America, and while watching James May's bit about the 70's supercar, it occurred to me that Lotus Evora name sounds a lot like the [Maserat]i Bora. A stretch?? A conspiracy?? A bored guy watching Top Gear re-runs?? you be the judge.

Whatever point Gary is trying to make can't be right. There is an Evora being used on the road around Hethel/Norwich by one of the Lotus testers and there is a photo on the Evora thread on LEF - it's a blue car BTW.
