Hospital appointment today with the Ortho Consultant....... mixed news.....
....firstly, he seemed to think I had a high pain threshold when I explained that i put the shoulder back into the socket, then re-aligned my foot by standing up and twisting my leg until the crunchiness stopped and the tracking was correct (And before our beloved founder steps in, I know it isn't technically the right thing to do, but when you're in the middle of a National Park, 2.5 hours from the nearest town with a hospital, it seemed like a good idea).
An ultrasound showed no signs of clotting from DVT.
Yet another X-ray shows that everything is nicely aligned, and if it stays like that until next Wednesdays' appointment there should be no need for surgery/plating - but until the swelling dissapears, he wont be certain....
...still no 'full cast' so having to rely on the 3rd posterior splint (back slab) of the incident (the most comfortable and supportive one yet - well done to the NHS

)...
I have to keep all weight off the foot, and leg elevated to allow the swelling to reduce.....
...the bad news is that they are not keen on me flying to Tunisia in a fortnights' time - but it is only 'advice' not 'instruction' (and I'm hoping that if all goes well, then they may be as accommodating as possible) - it's more than just a holiday as it's my dads' 90th birthday and the whole family are going, so I don't want to miss it (if it can be helped), and it can't be postponed - it's insured, but that isn't the point at all.... I'll just have to be good in the meantime and hope for the best - if it needs surgery (which i was told 25 years ago would happen eventually) then the trip will be out of the question
Yes, I will have to return to Vietnam next year to complete the challenge - anyone else fancy it? (Stevo, Doug, Nick

)
Either way, great thanks to everyone who sent a donation - Prostate Cancer UK have had over £400 from the Just Giving page, and off-line donations - it will all help to make a difference, so on their behalf, I thank you all

.
