New Member saying Hi!

Postby JulesBS2 » Sun 02.10.2022, 06:45

Just wanted to say Hi as a new member.
Purchased my Azure Blue S2 yesterday.

I think I will have frequent flyer miles as its a mechanically perfect car but a bit rough around the edges.
But it was purchased to enjoy.
I am in the Cambridge area so looking forward to meeting other Elan owners

Regards Jules

Hi Jules, welcome to LEC.

Azure blue is one of my favourite colours for the Elan, and is quite infrequently seen so enjoy it.

The cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed, so don't let the fact that it isn't perfect deter you from getting out and about. I drove mine for many years in a cosmetically-challenged condition and it always put a smile on my face.

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Hi Jules!
Azure blue is a very nice colour and suits the silver alloys very well.
I have seen an Azure blue Elan just once on a ... sale photo, so I gather they are pretty rare! (I don't think they painted any NA and SE Azure blue anyway?)
Welcome to you, and please don't hesitate to post a couple of photos!

Welcome - definitely a rare color, and we have 0 of them in the US! Enjoy it. As the owner of an Elan with half of its clear coat missing, just drive it and enjoy it :)

Welcome, Jules.

You will find the depth of knowledge and breadth of helpfulness outstanding here. The Elan is a lovely car, but there will always be something needing to be done just to improve it or maintain it. I suggest that you start a thread in the Projects - Other (Minor) section telling the story of maintaining your car. We all love to see how others are getting on.
