speeding ticket ?

think i may have just earned my 1st speeding ticket from one of those vans parked up in a bus stop.... (surely this is causing an obstuction)

heres the details.
twin lane (on my side but 30) driving towards camera van on the other side of the road.. can i be done on a forward facing camera?

any advice on advoidance?
if not will let you know in a few weeks....

Cross fingers and hope to be honest, the speeding vans usually work for oncoming traffic only. But usually it's down to the operatives discresion whom they book, i.e if it's a fairly wide road but a 30 limit, they may allow up to 40mph before they start recording and booking people. (esp if they're gettng just about everyone doing 40).

They can get you forwards OR rearwards, but your speed has to be constant for at least 2 seconds. It's always worth a stamp on the brakes as soon as you see those things if you're in any doubt - it may JUST be enough for the radar to not be able to get a lock on you.

I think 40mph is bit optimistic - from memory I believe they generally allow 10% and then another 10% for errors before they start chucking the book around.
Any idea what rate you were going at?

had a good look at the equipment and line of sight..
reckon my local coffers fund subscription charge will be along soon.

may have been doing about 43 ish.
and i did slam on the brakes ..
but being elan brakes i didn't stop for another 2 miles

There are specific ways in the FAQ section that they direct you in returning the UNSIGNED N.I.P. and quoting legal cases that could get you out of it.

what road improvements. Where I live they are spending a kings ransom on new speed bumps, but not filling in the existing pot holes, which have been around and ever deepening since last winter.

Apparently its a different dept. / diff budget thing. KNUTS
