Hello, new to the site met a very nice guy and his partner in Evesham petrol station, who had a mint condition elan S2 red, put me on to the site. So Thankyou very much
Was interested in the plastic bits that are by the hood as I have lost both of them, but read the discussion on how obsolete they are and how some one has the mold to make them!!
Also I have a problem with my turbo not working straight away but kicks in around 40, if anyone has any suggestions would be great to hear from you.
Thanks
Lisa : :
P.S Photo of car coming soon!!!!!

Hello and welcome. The turbo won't kick in till about 3.5 thousand revs, this is normal. If it doesn't kick in then you may have a problem.
Oh yeah if anyone can make up those B post caps, stick me down for 2 as well.

Hi Lisa welcome to LEC, plenty of friendly and helpful advice around here. Dovey is right you won't get any noticeable boost from the turbo below about 3500 RPM, above that you should see the boost gauge move up to about 0.5 (it's not very accurate) or a little more and feel the boost as the car accelerates. If you boost much more than 0.5 on the gauge then your car may well have been modified, no problem if it has, it just goes faster!

Hi Lisa,
Deja vu.
Your problems sound a bit similar to mine when I got my car 2 years ago. It turned out to be a sticking wastegate. Best check it out. You'll know when it's working correctly because as Nige says you'll feel the boost.

PS After a while you may find yourself wanting one of Alan's everest chips !!

Yep the mould is made and has just finished being polished. With a little bit of luck I'll have something to show very soon. Mind you, I still need to sort out the sprung hinge assembly as the Lotus offering is £20 for the spring alone.
That said, work and home life are swallowing up all my spare time, so maybe I'll pick this up when the DIY season is over.
