Actually TLF used to provide a CoP as an only choice, but a few month ago "someone" asked Bibs if he could have a CoC instead and Bibs asked Andy Graham and he agreed.
The thing is, I think Andy Graham as an archivist can only provide certificates for old cars like ours (<1996). But that's all what we need anyway — and maybe someone else at Lotus can do the real current CoC (>=1996 cars).

Andy has responded - my car left the factory with no cat fitted and is UK registered on that basis - so there is no emissions test data! Not sure where that leaves me with TUV? Waiting on Andy to come back to me now.

I don't know what the TUV will say to that ...
Don't you have a postal address in UK any more? Maybe it would be simpler to just let the Elan registered there ... But that may not be very legal, I don't know.

It is complicated - deer lotus not good - insurance company claim - UK MOT had run out - UK Ins want me to get a TUV/German Roadworthy cert...before proceeding with the claim - hence the problem

I can get a cat for my car £145 + delivery + VAT - but I would then have to get it fabricated to fit the Peco SS exhaust and then use the German cat car emissions

So far LHD headlights 80 euro, fit headlights 140euro, fittings for headlights 20 euro, rear ARB drop link and Pod Relay 85 euro, fix rear rhs brake and handbrake ??? Rewind kit for rear brakes 20 euro and on and on .... TUV test was 200 euro

If you install a cat I believe you need to install a lambda sensor too, because otherwise the cat would be inefficient with inaccurate/approximate fuelling and I think it could be destroyed really quick too (overheating).

So you are trying to get a TÜV approval for your Elan?

Without cat very difficult... without help of Lotus impossible.

You remember the Lady in Red which had no cat either of course. I got her TÜVed... but it was a bit of work.
