just discovered my garage has been broken into and a new 4L can of oil for the Elan was taken - thieving toerags smashed the security light and crow-barred the padlock off. Does not look as if anything else is missing, but I will check itoday. Good reason to keep your keys hidden in the alarmed house! The Elan is untouched.

I'm sorry to hear that. It sounds like the cost of the damage will be rather more than the value of the item stolen,
Fortunately, my garage is alarmed with the house. However, it does mean that I sometimes set the alarm off when I open the garage door from the remote key fob when I arrive home if my wife has gone out.

yeah I am looking into getting the house alarm extended to the garage - meanwhile I have fitted heavy duty clasp and the police gave me a tamper proof padlock with built in alarm
