Take a look at how the professional dent removers remove small dents on YouTube. If I remember correctly they prefer to push the dent out from the inside.

Decided against the glue method in the end although it all looks very convincing. Went to a chap in Worthing (fixadent.co.uk) and he's done the job perfectly. Would recommend if you're in the southeast. He does it the traditional way by massaging the dents out.
