Brilliant! Proton finally figured out how to get a Lotus reclassified within the SCCA. Sell out to VW and have them re-badge the Lotus Elise as the Porsche Elise. Expect the new Porsche Elise to be the car to dominate in GS.

Where would it fit into their portfolio with Audi (TT) , Bentley, Lamborghini, a poor mans Lambo maybe.

No offence intended to our German friends but the BMW takeover at MG Rover was in my opinion the beginning of the end for MGR. They cherry picked the new Mini, and the only hope of any success for MGR went with it.
I hope we don't see a similar scenario here.
I know we work in a Global marketplace but it still really defies belief that we have no British car industry left. Its not that we can't produce cars as efficiently as other countries either, Honda, Toyota, Nissan are all made here.

Yes, the possible sale is very interesting. I hope we get a bit more information at LOG25. The CEO will be there but what he knows and what he can say are two different things.

Of course my reference is to an Elise beating the Corvette C6’s at a national level Solo (Auto-X) in the SS class. The addition of a limited slip differential option for 2006 should help the Elise make this a less news worthy occurrence. Our beloved M100 is classed as AP (A Prepared) where it always gets stomped by modified (i.e., prepared Corvetts and etc.).
