Postby clemo » Sat 26.06.2021, 12:58

Having just posted this on another thread i thought it would be fun to open it to the floor ..

The golden rule of elan ownership .

1 Buy Elan on a whim after doing stacks of research on another car.
2 Carpet walls
3 Stockpile parts but never fit them
4 Place sales invoices neatly in a folder
5 Never tell Mrs how much you spent.
6 Intend to never drive in rain but it always rains when you drive.

4 Place sales invoices neatly in a folder
5 Never tell Mrs how much you spent.
6 Intend to never drive in rain but it always rains when you drive.
7 Make a list of 'Urgent things to repair/replace/upgrade'.... and add to it for many years, whilst not actually fixing the things you noted (but doing lots of other jobs along the way).
8 Learn to recognise the 'usual noises' so when a new one arrives, you will notice it and add it to the list at #7 above.
9 Always carry a towel in the car.
10 Keep all receipts for everything (but never add them up because #5 above may notice).

Hahaha!

Rule 1….
I did just that last thursday, buying the family saloon, involving every last family penny and more…
Tons of research on another one, then bought a Lexus GS450h in under half an hour at a trader (which i never-ever do)
