Sod's law

Postby GaryJ » Thu 07.07.2011, 09:12

so getting married on Sat and I thought I'd go in the Elan (of course!) - so over the last few weekends have spent hours and hours polishing and cleaning etc. Just had fully serviced as well. On Monday coolant pipe starts leaking, changed it last night, head gasket gone  6 years of ownership and other than a flat battery not 1 real problem. Typical!

Your Elan is jealous!

Hey, all the best to you doode. Can we gatecrash?

They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the sh * t out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

If that's the worst problem you have after you're married, you'll be doing all right!

Congratulations and good luck for Saturday.

A more minor quibble but the same principle:

I cycle to the station on my way to work. It is fairly early in the morning so the roads are very quiet.
After it has rained, there is a large puddle which I have to swerve around. If 1 car passes me, you can guarantee it will be exactly at that spot so I either have to stop or get wet.
This morning, 2 cars passed me right there. Apart from that, the road was totally clear. :censored:

Can you lend your bike to Gary on Saturday...?

... Is it a tandem?

... Gary, I used my Elan for my wedding get away, this was 11 years ago... Polished, ship-shape, with false plates that read 'JUST WED', perfect.

... While parked outside the venue... an old private school with lovely gothic buildings... an end of term egg fight erupted and my car got caught up in it.
I happened to walk past the car just before the wedding ceremony and had to wipe off the eggs with my evening suit tails... must have looked a bit of a state when my bride walked up to me at the alter... :ladysman:

... But I had forgotten all this ... what's really special is the day itself...

...Congatulations, you will enjoy it.

Congratulations! I don't know if they'll allow other countries to see this video from the website, but this was hilarious:
