Honourable Mention

Postby daveiow » Sat 09.02.2013, 18:28

Just picked up the March edition of Classic & Sportscar and read the article concerning the rebuild of Rowan Atkinson's Mclaren F1
A fascinating piece on the car and a truly enthusiastic owner. Never liked Mr Bean but love Atkinson in just about everything else he has done :D
Loved the way he was happy to admit that it " just got away from him" when accelerating hard in 4th and then after picking the car up from McLaren HQ after its £900k rebuild he drove it to work in Central London
True class!
In a side piece on the F1 development it states:
"Lotus Elan M100 designer Peter Stevens came on board as the cars stylist ...."
Not bad to be associated in such a mainstream mag with a true super car.

They also have a small M100 article on their website at the moment. I spotted it when looking for the Rowan Atkinson story online...

S2 No.285... Then sold it 2014
