NSX....?

Postby Jamie N » Thu 25.12.2014, 20:43

Anyone had one?, Im seriously looking at one as its always been a dream car for me, I had a run in a friends one a couple of years back, but that's about it, never had any other dealings with them. Prices seem to be on the up as well and I doubt they will decline much in value unless something drastic happens. For me its about the only car I would chop my Elan for, had the Exige for a while but somehow it just never had that spark, nice car though, but the NSX is another league. Views / Thoughts, Anyone :?: . Only picture I could find sadly :D ...

Prices had gotten pretty cheap on that car until a few years ago people decided it was valuable and up they went. That pic - beautiful. Was there a car in that photo?

That's very true, 5 years ago you could buy an early one for 12 to 14 Grand and now the same car has virtually doubled in price.
Oh yes the picture, hmm, I think that's the one that finally made up my mind I've just got to have it. (What car was I talking about sorry? :-D )

Personally I'd love one of the older shape with the pop up head lights, don't think I could afford the running cost at the mo though.

Can't go wrong a a jap built car, always pretty bomb proof if they've been looked after and sound amazing

Saw this one at Car Fest this year, believed to have been owned by Ayrton Senna at some point in time, gorgeous car and one to seriously consider in my opinion. I believe Senna had a hand in the design and testing. It made a fantastic sound to add to the whole package.

I'm sure I've read somewhere recently that Ayrton Senna's old NSX is currently up for sale. Probably sold my now though and in a museum

PS think you might have missed the boat on the NSX Jamie, unless you have a minimum of 30k/35k in your back pocket   My mate has one in Brunei and is thinking of bringing it back home when he retires from Royal Brunei Airlines

I thought about one maybe a year ago.

I began looking and they were about £19K within a few weeks of looking they had gone to £25k.

I decided not to bother.

They look superb, handle superb but only have 280 bhp, that's only 10 bhp more than my Elan...

I love the NSX.

As stated earlier this is the one and only car that I would trade the Elan for. (in orange please!)
But: I'd need to measure the garage first if it would fit! :bonk:

I think it was Alex Zanardi who was involved in the tuning. I remember they did a special edition for him at some point.

Edit - Wiki tells me it was for his back to back CART wins, nothing to do with helping on the car. I'm surprised I remembered his name after reading it 15 years ago, I've never heard of him before or since other than learning he lost his legs in a crash at some point. But ask me important things and I draw a blank.

Just seen this.
I think you will find he did rather well in the Olympics as a hand cyclist. Most impressive!
