Can anyone please let me know if it is possible, and what is required, to take a 48 state m100 and register it in California.
Many thanks,

The green/white label in the engine compartment of my Elan reads "This vehicle confirms to all US EPA regulations..." and there is no where on the label to indicate if it is a California car or 48 states car. I bought my 8 years ago from Texas with only 5,500 miles on the car. You just need to be able to pass smog in California, and also your car must have more than 7,500 miles on it before the DMV will allow you to register it in California. I had to put on another 2,500 miles on the car before the DMV would allow me to register it.

Really appreciate the information, and as such, I now own an Elan.

What a strange restriction.

It's meant to keep new cars that don't meet the CA regs from being sold there.
Strive for perfection in everything. (given time)
Take the best that exists & make it better. (given inclination)
If it doesn't exist, create it. (God did)
Ignore what I say. (good advice)
