Hi there,

I'm Andy, based in Surrey, looking to purchase an Elan but I need a bit of info to help me make my choice. How much does a service cost on average, what kind of mpg could I expect. I'm in a very fortunate position... my wife is quite keen on me getting an Elan, I just need the info to seal the deal.

elan services costs can be very cheap...
oil, filter,plugs, £40.
if you do it yourself..
from their upwards depending on how and who you wish to stamp your service book. £230 for lotus stamp £160 for lotus specialist stamp, well thats what it is down south west..
b service and c service are more expensive..

I'd say that 25-30mpg isn't an unreasonable expectation. I regularly get 300+ miles out of a 40litre tank (mixture of driving type, roof down 99% of the time)
