Service in Leicestershire

Postby Elan1 » Fri 09.07.2004, 23:03

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has recently taken their Elan to CD Bramals in Leicester and what they think of them. I was spotted getting out of my Elan at work recently and it turns out the guy has an Elan. We got talking about servicing and he said he wouldn't touch CD Bramals with a barge pole! Just wondered if anyone else had good or bad stories about them? Where else in the Midlands do a good and reasonable service?
Ta ;D

Paul Matty's - Bromsgrove
Nick Whale - B'ham
Horizon - Halesowen

Paul Matty & Horizon are independants but certainly know a fair bit about Elans, especially Paul Matty's where the cheif mechanic used to own one for many years.

Not too sure about Nick Whale, as I've only really used them for parts.

Darren
~~~~~
Elan1, whereabouts are you in Leics, im in Oakham & either take it to Kelvedon Motors at Pinchbeck or Gerald Turner at Newmarket. Know its a fair old trek, but only service it once a year.
Sarah, Pinchbeck is the other side of Bourne, a fair way from you i beleive, but i think Pat Thomas the owner does run you into town for a spot of shopping, whilst he sorts your car, if thats your thing. If your still interested let me know & i will give you his phone no.
Paul
Thanks Paul.
I think I'm probably going to go to Paul Mattys for the big service. Seems a reasonable cost and is fairly easy for us to get to.
I'm like you on the shopping front - would rather be buying things for my elan than me! (or my motorbike - hubbies just the same).
We will, however, have to meet up, as we would love to see the interior of your car - same sort of thing as what we would like to do to ours. Hopefully going to get a quote from Autotrim in Leicester next week.
Cheers,
Sarah :)
Sarah,
Im in Leicester too, although not a Lotus Garage i use a place called REO they are a garage and paint shop, and have done some good work on my Elan S2.
However Paul Mattys are great, and you are nearer than me. The blokes are as helpful as you could ever want.
Would be interested in what the triming company had to say, mines all leather bit a little bit of the piping has split.
Cheers
