Currently, my Elan m100's radiator fan units kick in when the coolant temperature gauge reachs 1/4 mark. Isn't the OEM setting for radiator fan units set at 3/4 mark?
So, if I would like my Elan M100's radiator fans to kick in when the coolant temperature reaches 1/2 mark, which CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor) or/and cooling fans thermostat, should I buy? Please be specific.
Cheers,
Elan M100 S2

When you say they cut in at the quarter mark... do you mean they always cut in after a few miles of normal driving?
Or do you mean... when they do cut in, due to high engine temperature from driving in heavy traffic, the dial is still only showing a quarter.

This is what I observe.
When the coolant temperature gauge reaches 1/4 mark, my Elan's radiator fan units activate.

Michael,
There are three temperature units:
The Coolant Temperature Sensor is only used by the ECU.
The Coolant Sender is only used to drive the gauge on the dashboard.
The Coolant Fan Switch is only used to switch on the fans.
During normal driving, the temperature gauge should read ~¼ scale and the fans shiould operate at ~¾scale when there is little airflow over the radiator. I would suggest either your fan switch is a lower temperature one or your sender is not working correctly. The easiest way to diagnose it would be to do an ElanScan run until the fans kick in a couple of times.
