Fuel pressure test kit

Hi all,

I'd like to work through the EMK 4-7 diagnostic flow chart to work out if a faulty pressure regulator (or something else) is causing over-fuelling and therefore high emissions. Has anyone done this? What test kit did you use? Would the Sealey VSE211 be what I need or is there a simpler/cheaper bit of kit that would do the job?

I decided the VSE211 wasn't suitable because it's only for systems with Schrader test ports, which I don't think Elans have, I've not found an off-the-shelf fuel pressure gauge suitable for injection systems alongwith with suitable fittings for a reasonable price (all >£200!) so I guess I'm going to have to make one up myself.

I'll let you know how I get on. If anyone's got any pointers I'd appreciate the help!

An old thread I know but did you ever work up a fuel pressure testing solution? I would like to do the same and test for over fuelling.

Not yet, but I have bought an adaptor for a pressure test kit off the Lotus Aftersales list (see other thread on this forum, can't remember where, probably in Parts for Sale) and will just look for a gauge that fits it when I have time. I think that should suffice, I can't see the point of spending hundreds of pounds (thousands even, for the actual test kit supplied by Lotus).
