problem knowing or finding the map sensor

I haven't checked but I'd be amazed if there isn't something in the Manuals... and looking at Pinky's third photo of the MAP sensor it's just a case of disconnecting the plug, and undoing the two screws mounted vertically on each end of the supporting bracket. Removing the sensor and replacing it, tightening the screws and re-attaching the plug.

My MAP sensor and CTS sensors arrived today. fantastic speedy delivery i have to say. i did not even get stung by import tax.

My problem is now getting a a hall Sensor. Does rock auoto do this . tried lotus everywhere no luck.

a bit pricy at some other places . does rockauto do a separate part off the hall sensor to the lotus.

I've added some help on the Wiki. If you go to the Lotus Aftersales website, you can download the parts list and the order form which can be faxed through and you can specify which Lotus garage you want to pick the hall effect device up from - they're still £20!

I got stung with import tax a week after my parts , so you have not escaped yet

Got the map sensor delivered from Rock auto today. but it did not fit . the mechanic said the connector plug is completly different. . the three plugs would not connect to the socket because it has three different three input frames .although the sensor overall is the same size and looks everything the same .

the new rock auto sensor reads TRANSPO MAO 11011656- US - beck arnley 1580380 . the main problem the new sensors pins does not slide in to the plug.the frame inside is different.

has anyone had this same problem

Now what do i do. i will have to return the sensor back to Rock auto. also what do i re order. do i have to get another sensor which has GM on it or do i have to get the connector plug ?? tied a copule of GM shops . no luck yet

I bought a map sensor from Rock auto. The Beck /an;ey one from rock auto with part number 1580380. the thing did not fit the plug housing as the actuial map got upgraded .

does any one know where i can get a connector for the beck arnley.

Am I reading this correctly? You bought a Beck Arnley 1580380 from RockAuto and it doesn't fit? I know the Wiki listed this item (taken straight off the RockAuto listing) but RockAuto do not now list this part.

Could you confirm what you ordered and what you received and if possible post a picture?

i orderd the beck / arnley map sensor 1580380 . this is a one bar map sensor. having researched half a day on the web found out that this only fits non turbo cars. mine is a turbo with different connector fittings .

found out also that the AS4 and adelco 2 bar map sensor is a real posiibilty of the correct one .
any thoughts

The turbo raises MAP to above 1 bar. That's its job.

what do you mean? the as4 is i think the right one. the one i ordered def is not as it does not even fit .

Forgive summit but they have the same figures for both the 2 and 3 bar in their specs. this is in fact the correct range sensor.
