Alternator query

Twice this week I have had to jump start the car; on Sunday it was dead (having rested over the weekend) so jumped it to get it started drove it into my garage and plugged the battery to a charger. Today and yesterday have pootled about and it has been starting fine, however just went out to put it in the garage and battery is flat, again jumped it and have now put it in the garage!

When running, the Volt Mtr shows 13, there are no warning lights on anywhere.

Is there anyway of determining the state of the Alternater, the battery is about 18 months old if I recall?

Can you borrow an alternative battery and see if this behavior repeats?

A bit late but have you checked to see if you have any lights on (trunk light is notoriously on even when closed due to poor trigger). If you can start the car after a jump and drive it around for hours its probably not the alternator.

Thanks, it turns up that it was the battery, I had it tested and it was shot!
