I am stuggling to find / download ElanScan. Is it still being used and can it run on a macbook?

Welcome to LEC Dave,

Elanscan is only for Windoze. The original download site is long gone, but John (Brit-Car-Nut) hosts it on his Manuals site:

http://www.lotusm100.com/manuals

At the top of the list.

Edit: IIRC Someone did report that it ran under Wine, but only used it for examining files so didn't try data acquisition.

Thanks for that. I gussed that would be the case. I will need to dig out my old PC and have a go. Has anyone developed any other system. I have a wifi connector for the OBD and wondered if there is a way of using that to talk to my computer. (Im not very techy!)
Thanks again for your help and stay safe at this difficult time.

Hi All
Does anyone in the Midlands have a usb port connector for the OBD to use elanscan. I saw the you tube 'how to make one' post and this maybe something for me to try with all this time on my hands. Sometime back I think Geoff was making and selling them - is that still the case?

I'm Midlands based with a lead. Unfortunately it does not have an ALDL plug as a previous owner changed the ALDL socket for a 15 pin socket. No idea why. Geoff had to make up a special lead with the appropriate 15 pin plug on it.

Geoff does still make them. Look at any of his posts in the bit below the text.

Hi,
As for an ElanScan equivalent for Macbook, there is actually a logging software that should work on win/mac/linux indeed. But the guy who wrote it years ago wanted to add a few things before he releases it, but at some point never really bothered to work on it again ... :chair:
Fortunately the guy is still active on the forum and ... well I might start the PC to see what I wanted to add (at least the xls export and elanscan import/export :bonk: )

I have now made the elanscan OBD to computer connection and it works! so I can offer it for free loan to west midlands M100 owners with a diagnostic conundrum.

Hello Dave, good to know you got it working!
For information for others, you can run Windows on your MacBook to help with these issues, it's officially supported by Apple.
