Perished rubber pipe?

Hi all, anyone know what this perished rubber pipe does please? Are replacements available? Thanks in advance.

Are you on about the vacuum pipe to the boost transducer ? If so, any old bit of vacuum pipe with the correct diameter can be purchased off EBay. Most common colours available other than black if you want

Hmm, maybe- it's the pipe than runs horizontally in the above pic.

I can't really tell which pipe you are referring to, but the simple answer is that there is nowt in the picture which can't be replaced!

If it is the thin vacuum pipe between the boost transducer and the plenum, then it is 'standard' 3mm bore vacuum hose (thick walled silicone) which is purchasable from ebay, or otherwise, by the meter (I replaced all my vacuum hoses at the same time, and it used about 8m of pipe).

Right, now that this post has been successfully resolved, I'm piggybacking and you, or SimonP, can help me

The boost transducer is bolted to the bulkhead with 2 Phillips screws but what do they attach to ? Are there captive nuts on the rear ? Or just a normal washer and nut ?

Mine has come loose and won't screw back in so I'm assuming not captive and I will have to remove the FOS wheel arch liner ?

Any ideas ?

Think it should be a rubber plug with a threaded insert. When you tighten the bolt or screw it either pulls the back end of the rubber in or expands it to grip - a bit like a rawlbolt. It's called a................

(or at least, that's what I have holding mine on. An M5 threaded well nut will require a 10mm hole to fit (M6 requires 1/2")

Thanks both. That makes sense.

I still have the "rubber well nuts" in situ but both are perished and the transducer is currently held in place by good old gaffa tape. Not pretty I know but its only temporary. In fact my rubbers don't look dissimilar to Pompey Dave's in the 1st photo so it might be something else for him to consider when he renews all the vacuum pipes.
