Header seal versions

Postby stevebow » Fri 19.09.2008, 20:02

I've got hold of a later header seal (B100V0125F) my hood is not an s2 hood, no i know from reading the forums that the later seal is longer than the original (A100V0125H) my question is can i use the later part on my se hood, i've placed the new seal on the windscreen where it would go and i'ts short (but would fit with streching), also the same when lined up on the current seal on the hood. has anyone tried fitting a later seal to an se hood ?

I would have said no.....its designed to fit a different header rail........
I have a spare SE header seal......however its attatched to a hood front.....
I will compare the one I have on my S2 hood and check it out for you before you end up with no seal at all....
cheers
G

the later seal is longer and I think a different shape to accomodate the longer header rail.....it also 'droops' over the top of the a post to give a better seal/water displacement pattern.........
I'll try to take some pics if I get chance

i have fitted an s2 header to mine with a stock standard se frame but and aftermarket grey hood.
the rubber ends stick out a noticeable amount.

however this could be excentuated due to the hood being tighter than most....
but at the time i had no choice so on it went.
