Diamondbrite

Postby Steve A » Tue 27.04.2010, 10:03

After being offered a Diamondbrite coating on my new car I decided to look it up and give it a try,
it cost £200 to be done at the dealer,so I thought if I could buy it myself and diy that would be even better :-D
Sure enough it's readily available on flea bay for around a fiver  .
I gave the wifes car the treatment yesterday, I think I have enough for two cars, seems pretty good so far, If it lives up to it's promises I'll be well chuffed :D
Any one else used it before ? I've had a simular product before the one Tiff likes, it does make a difference, the car is much easier to clean

I used to sell Diamondbrite and the competitor SupaGard when i was a car salesman for anything between £200-£350. Mainly because i earnt £50 for every one sold!

The actual product is good - you could tell that a car had been treated when it was being PX'd 3 or 4 years later. If it was applied for £50-70 it would be a good investment, particularly on non metallic cars and especially on White and Black vehicles. It is supposed to work by filling in the microscopic ridges in the paintwork with the clear polish, but that could be just sales blurb - the important thing to note was it did seem to work.
Scott.

Do I buy another Elan or go for something older and different?

I've used it on all three of my cars includinng the Elan, so far I'm impressed , although I haven't
cleaned since ,that's when it really pays off, a nice finish with little effort (hopefully).

As most car polishes, and I assume Diamondbrite as well, are mainly intended for use on conventionally painted metal cars, are they not inappropriate for Elans, with their gel coat and laquer layers? Or does it not matter?
