Is "Federal Red" a Lotus color?

Postby BethlehemLotus » Sun 19.06.2011, 22:32

On inside door shell of my red M100, "Dave" wrote "federal red." Are these two different references, federal for US compliant and red for Calypso Red?

I've not heard of it. I would guess it is Calypso.

Was Dave waiting for a "just in time" delivery of commas to the line?

I believe commas had just gone obsolete so he couldn't get any.

Nice observation, but given that this was Lotus, one would think that he would have grabbed a semi-colon that was near at hand.

They were discontinued and replaced by the comma earlier. Periods are also obsolete.

Rumor has it they'll soon be sourcing circumflexes and umlauts from GM Europe to use in upcoming sentences. They tried Toyota but found the Japanese punctuation was incompatible with their grammatical design.

I've now discovered, through much research on this site (why isn't it in the Wiki?), that half a set of quotation marks can be cut down and fettled to fit, but please bear in mind that they're handed, so you need the correct side to start with....
