a question for everyone.

Postby dapinky » Sat 16.05.2015, 17:56

I put this here because it's not really a 'Problem needing help', but is a question I can't find an answer to........

When looking at the Hood cover lid, the WM mentions a length of foam strip which goes between the hinges, and appears (from the written description) to line up with where the rubber seal runs.

There is no mention of it in the parts book, and I've never encountered one in the flesh (on my cars, or the 2 I looked at yesterday).

Does anyone have this strip in place? and if so, can you post a picture of it please.

(I have a length of the foam strip left over from re-fitting the clamshell and may as well use it if it should be there)

Yes, it is part of the Fed. car. It seals the stowage lid from water egress.
Keeps the lid tight to the body.
Foam tape may not due, it looks to be a very custom fit.

You're right Geoff. I'll get it out from under the tonneau cover and back into the bedroom. :bananasex:
