More Hood Problems

Postby kat-owner » Thu 06.09.2007, 09:28

I have a Lotus with the same hood problems discussed in some of the posts below

This being that when I put the hood up there is an inch gap between the rear seal and the bodywork of the car. So far I've just put up with it and found that even if its raining the water doesn't come in the back so long as I maintain a good 100mph.....

Only kidding

I read with interest that the wires in the hood should pull the rear down, I've been in the garage this morning and looked at mine. The wires are loose, but when I pull the wires tight with my hand it pulls the rear up even further, not down.

So my question is.......where should the rear wires attach to. At the moment they are attached to the last cross member that goes from N/S to O/S, but should they go the arms with the cams on to pull them into place?

I've spent all morning on this. I've even been to the local Lotus dealer and looked at other Elans. It's obviously nothing to do with the wires in the hood.

The local dealer says that the frame is a bit loose in places, so I tightened all the allen screws, some were very loose. But still no joy.

I think I'll just stick to using it with the roof down in nice weather. 8)

And finding other ways to entertain myself when it's raining :porn:
