It's not just a case of getting a tin of gloss , the finish is black with a slight sheen.
It looks like I need to pay a visit to my local car paint shop.

Hi I did mine in the summer and used Halfords bumper paint. I prepared it first with Halfords bumper preparation, this is a cleaner that gets rid of any grease or crap that would effect the end result. The paint is designed for plastic type surfaces. While I was at it I did the wiper arms as well. Made a big differance.
I also noted that the black plastic surrounding the rear number plate had gone gray so I sprayed it with black bumper paint after cleaning it with the preperation spray, just made the back look newer.
Lots of pain and little gain

Yep it's "just black paint" available from any car shop, matt, sheen, or gloss as I now know having seen it in the shop.
I think the sheen will look best as per standard.

probably covered in black primer from a windscreen fitter. They are not the finest of artists.

I like gloss myself as per SEM39063 VS their original trim paint SEM39143. We all want our trim to look new. Although most cars came with semi-gloss trim paint my experience is that it fades to flat in a couple years. You're better off starting with all the gloss you can get, unless you really enjoy CONSTANTLY waxing.
Strive for perfection in everything. (given time)
Take the best that exists & make it better. (given inclination)
If it doesn't exist, create it. (God did)
Ignore what I say. (good advice)
