Removal of Rear Number plate Surround

Postby dravidham » Sun 10.05.2009, 18:35

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the procedure for the removal of the rear numberplate urround please. I've removed the rear number plate in the hope of exposing screws that hold the surround in place but there does not seem to be any present.

Now do I remove this item withough causing damage please?

Thanks,

Graham.

Graham,

The number plate plinth/mounting is normally secured by 4 screws along the top edge, covered by the edge of the boot.
The bottom edge is normally just secured by 2 strips of adhesive foam tape, although some do have a further 4 screws along the bottom edge, which are fitted from inside the boot, and can be found by lifting up the piece of carpet in the boot which covers the rear panel between the rear light clusters.

Hope this helps,

Martin.
