Noticed a 50mm crack in my front wing today extending inwards from the wheel arch lip. Looks nasty! Is it easy to repair the GRP? Should I drill a small hole at the end of the crack to prevent it spreading further until I can get it sorted?
Currently Elan-less and on the lookout for a good one.

Is the crack all the through to the other side? if it is then I would say yes to the drill especially if the crack could extend and make the repair more expensive. To someone who knows what they are doing then GRP is a relatively easy job.
Could the 'Hokey-Cokey' actually be what it's all about?

Thanks. Yes the crack is right through. Its upsetting to see my baby hurt like this, and confusing as shes SORN at the moment so hasn't been out of my garage this year so goodness knows how it happened!! We end drill cracks in our composite aircraft to stop them propagating further but I thought it best to check before I head out to the Elan with the black and decker
