Calypso Red is the most common Elan colour, but can anyone tell me if the shade changed when the paint code changed to Pu Pont. I have seen a bright red with purple tinge and a bright red with orange tinge, neither could be put down to paint fade and requesting touch up sprays can bring a completely different shade.
Has anyone had similar problems?
All the best plans are flexible, Lotus use Sicaflex.

You mention fade? The DuPont paint certainly does not suffer from fade anywhere near as badly as the ICI paint.
Remember that many Elans have now been resprayed.
Nicowalker1's Elan looks slightly orange when next to any other red Elan. He found out that his was resprayed something like 'Ferrari Red' which I believe was a VW colour.
