i,ve got a few minor "broozed" sections of fibreglass floor - - not structural - but sufficient to let water ingress from underneath
what's the tried n tested rubberised sealant to paint (brand) the underside of the floor pan thats good at sticking to the fibreglass ?

I'm no expert on fiberglass but I have owned a few boats..... Just a thought Norman.
If you have any damage on the tub that has cracked it or even penetrated the resin and has exposed fibers. I would be very tempted to repair it using resin and glass cloth (or mat) and preferably a sealer resin or Gel coat.
I believe Fiberglass is porous and in the nice wet UK summers it will probably absorb and retain water.
In my opinion if you use a rubber based paint on it. you may have trouble getting resin to stick to the surface at a later date unless it was all sanded off.
Fiberglass and resin is easy to mix and apply. (ask my wife.. she helped me replace a floor in a boat)...
Should be widely available in the UK. Boat resin I believe is polyester. I do not know about the Elan although I do believe the info is in the manual.
I would still believe it would be better and more resistant to additional damage than rubber paint.
Hopefully someone else can offer you better advice

Fibreglass matting is definitely the way to go ,it would probably be better if you removed the seats and carpets and laid it on the inside rather than try and stick it on from the underside ,.How come the floor got damaged in the first place ??

Interesting or not as the case may be.
"CAN POR-15 BE USED WITH FIBERGLASS?
Absolutely. POR-15 is fully compatible with fiberglass and can be used to repair cracks in gelcoat. It will adhere better than polyester resin and has greater strength. "
That will stop the water ingress me thinks
