Tightening the hood frame

Postby Nippy » Sat 27.07.2013, 14:14

These things happen. Driving with the hood down the other day, went to put it back up and found the middle bit of the driver's door frame had come apart. I was lucky, somehow the washers, bolt etc had fallen out behind the driver's seat. Armed with an allen key I was able to put it all back together and of course tightened the other bolts too. Many of us are unable to service our cars and my feeling is such tightening is probably not included in any service anywhere. My advice, either tighten them yourself or get a garage to do it for you, only takes a minute, much better than losing the washers and bolt (which are probably obsolete by now!!).
