Finally got so fed up with overboost in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear, veeeerrroooooooommmmmmm, bang! Pop, bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, light on, severe engine shake if I try to keep the revs above 4000. Not ideal when trying to overtake. So, take the turbo off again. Checked it had been ported correctly the first time, and yup, 20mm. So opened it out to 22mm and flowed the inner edges, the leading edge nearest the manifold flange has been radiased and the sides tapered and flowed, while keeping the back edge sharp and squared all in an attempt to direct exhaust flow into the port when the flap is open. Back on, reconnect all the pipes and bits, refill cooland and burp it. Now to test it..........

 Yay, no more overboost :D

But I sure do miss the extra power I used to have for the few seconds prior to the engine management cutting the fuel, used to be able to sort of accelerate really hard then lift off a bit to reduce the boost, bit of an art, but boy, was there alot of power available. Didn't do it too often, I didn't know how lean the engine was getting, and I have previously seen a turbo engine melt it's pistons on full boost in under 5 seconds (WWWWWAAAAAARRRRRRR.....BBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo it sort of went, very briefly!). Must do a scan and see what presure on full boost the MAP sensor is telling the ECU, the boost gauge now reads a max of about 0.8 BAR and with an Elysium chip it should be higher, but the gauge could be reading low anyway. Much more controllable with lower boost now anyway, the car doesn't spin it's wheels in 3rd gear on a dry road now!

Sounds like my experience after porting! (but fortunately with me 1 time was enough :-D )
I also have the feeling that i am missing about 0.1 bar of boost, but haven't been able to do an Elanscan...

Keep us posted!
