Hi guys, yes another turbo issue.
The turbo boost gauge is showing full boost at 3000 rpm but I'm getting hardly any power increase at all
This is new to me because I've always had great boost before, any ideas!

Mine used to do that. I had lots of other symptoms too:
Overboost at 4100rpm
Lots of overrun (Popping on deceleration)
Exhaust was very sooty on startup.
Engine burbled to life (I quite liked the sound of that)
Advancing the ignition timing cured the lot.

Thanks Rip for the info but it turned out to be one ot the pipes from the turbo, the clip at the end was loose so all the boost was escaping.
Glade it wasn't anything more expensive. I did notice that when boost goes throught this pipe it expands, is this usual?
I will get the timing checked sometime too because I do get poping & the odd backfire.

Yes, a rubber hose will expand when the pressure inside is higher than outside.
A braided hose or metal pipe are alternatives if you prefer.

My mechanic seems to think changing the hose to metal will add a couple of horse power

don't know if there's any reality to that! & do I need more

AIUI, the map sensor is off the inlet manifold and the turbo is more than capable of generating the desired pressure, so changing to a metal pipe shouldn't make any difference. Might make a negligible difference to the lag.
