27C256 found, erased, programmed with Alan's bits and fitted.

Runs OK with no warning light.

The SADIM touch is deserting me it seems. :P

Now there's only the exhaust, Peugeot A/C and Polo steering rack to sort out.

She ran fine, thanks Alan you're a hero.

Wound up the turbo to check the fuel cutout and nearly ended up hitting the steering wheel! Even at ~£250 a chip, it looks like those naughty boys at Superchips have overiden one of Lotus's normal protection features. This would appear to be necessary at some stage during the Elan's life, as sticking waste valves seem to be a common problem. I wonder how many other "features" are missing?

IMHO, there is only one person to trust if you want to chip your Elan and that is ESM.

 Thanks Geoff, you're too kind.

I'm glad you've got problem no. 1 sorted. Have fun with the wastegate. I just sorted one on blue car - it took to a real beating to free it off.

Its certainly noteworthy that the PROM code you sent me appeared to have no table modifications to mixture, boost, timing, etc. As far as I can see all was achieved was to break the overboost cut and the PROM checksum code, although a lot of parameters had been deleted from the early part of the PROM to who knows what effect.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to sit on your arse with a blank look on your face.
