To avoid a new thread, shot this picture from a bloke who makes CF parts for TVRs.  What a loverly CF-airbox this is too, don't you think?  I'd pay big bucks for a similar Elan item.  Even a CF lid would be a great improvement.<br>

What about just a simple CF Trash Can lid?  (especially one without all those damn ribs in it... hard to clean)  The doc is right on one point, if Lotus could be indented & made part of the mold that would be cool, as we could paint it to match the car.  However, that is icing & definately not a requirement.  Failing the later, just a stencil of same in the right size would allow us to affix & spray paint it on ourselves.  I would do it freehand, but I might misspell Lrtouss.   [smiley=all_coholic.gif]<br><br>We need help here!!!!!  This part has been the butt of jokes since the car rolled off the line.   :'(

Something like this wouldn't be too expensive for the mold tool and the parts shouldn't break the bank. Having a raised 'Lotus' (or AIR...only kidding Sy...) will increase the chance of scrapping / making poor quality parts but there are several options how we could 'Lotusize' the design???<br>

I like the idea of a body or lid that facilitates plumbing the BOV back in -  I'd actually get around to fitting one -and have to have the c/f pipes as well.

I would be very interested in a CF replacement for the trash can.  Firstly, it's functional, secondly, it would facilitate plumbing in the recirculating dump valve neatly, thirdly, it would match the Carbon IC pipes I have on order from Darren, and finally it would look great (anti bling pill required here).  It will have a price but quality always does.<br><br>Nige

I think just a lid is the practical/logical place to start.  If/when a complete CF Air-Box is ever designed/made it can complement the lid *you* already have.  The lid holds so much value for so many & is cost effective for all concerned, plus is not as open to design variation as the airbox.  Sometimes, both in my life & in my job, if I ask for too much I get nothing.  "Patience, Grass-hopper"  (old-time Kung-Foo reference.  What was the name of that show anyway?)

agree with Matt.<br><br>Make the lid, I and others could use a hole saw to cut a hole in the can portion for the plumbing!  I wouldn't want it to plumb back into the lid anyway  :-/
