Power loss on boost

Postby Tex » Sat 24.04.2010, 17:07

Frustration! Beautiful smooth power delivery on moderate boost, but as soon as full boost comes on line when engine is warm the power goes and it feels as though the engine has cut out. Management light come on and stays on for several minutes along with much reduced power. Any ideas?? Tex

Probably wastegate related: If you've fitted a larger exhaust then you will need to port it. If not then it's probably stuck over the Winter and you need to wiggle it. Check out the Wiki for details of both.

Thanks forthe advice. Was concerned the problem may have been electrical but as the car is very little used (and pampered) seems the wastegate is a good shout. Just moved to Poole in Dorset and am not confident - and very time poor - to do this. Anyone recommend a good place to help with this and general servicing stuff??

Try this area as this is where people winge or compliment garages.
