How many hours to do gearbox

Postby abmunro » Fri 07.05.2010, 09:29

I am picking up my car after having work done, Do these hours sound reasonable from garage

Fit injectors 3 hours

Remove Gearbox, fit clutch, fit quaife & re-install Gearbox 11 hours

Fit new LGM Turbo Kit 5 hours

Cheers

The injectors are fiddley but should be less than 3 hours.

The gearbox has to be stripped to install the quaife so that will be time consuming, btw get them to check the end nut on the 5th gear section as i`ve heard these coming loose.

The 5 hours for LGM kit sounds good to me.

so what was the final bill

Sounds fairly reasonable to me. Injectors maybe a little on the high side, but as Murph said the LGM turbo install sounds very reasonable.
Just for your interest- Quaife fitted mine for £125. I delivered and collected my box but they were happy to have it delivered and re-deliver it.
