coolant pipe thingy

Postby chipp » Thu 29.07.2010, 21:12

i've just managed to get home with steam coming from under the bonnet (phew) on investigation i found a leak coming from the rubber hose that comes out from what looks like a thermostat housing and joining into a metal pipe that seems to dive into the turbo. looks like a fairly simple job but does anyone know if this part might be available from lotus?

..it may or may not be available from Lotus, but have you considered installing a set of SAMCO hoses ?

Cheers

:goodposting:
If one hose has gone, the others are going and will be gone soon enough. Best bet is to replace all of them if budget allows; it's cheaper than a warped cylinder head because of a burst pipe someplace where you can't limp home. Samco kit is the bee's knees and last I looked, mentioning LEC to the fine folks at Amber Performance could still net you a discount from list.

ok, just to let you know the coolant pipe thingy was available from lotus for £6. needless to say but obviously a lot cheaper than a complete new set(samco) and the little elan is back on the road.
