Boost Sender & CEL

Postby cliff » Thu 27.01.2011, 20:00

When I bought the car, my boost gauge was erratic. Sender was hanging loose, fitted correctly and boost gauge works fine now. During the test drive, I had hesitation when accelerating and a CEL light. I drove for 550 miles when I collected the car without any problems.

I thought that this sender was only for the indicator - please correct me if I am wrong.

For good measure have ordered the ElanScan interface so this should tell me more.

Any Ideas?

You are correct in assuming the boost sender is solely for the gauge. You may want to do a paperclip test with the ALDL connector to see what code it gives. There is a write up of how to do this in the wiki link on the forum home page. Hope this helps

Thanks, I looked at doing this but as it just started snowing, I put the car back in the garage.

A bit wimpish I know but at least I drove it with the roof down for the first time today. :D
