Wastegate porting without removing the turbo

Evening all!
Question: has anyone ported the wastegate without removing the turbo? Seems a shame to take everything apart if I don't really have to...

I would have though access would be tricky, you would have problems getting all the swarf etc out and there is a good chance you'll shear a stud on the exhaust elbow which is going to be a lot more difficult to get that out with the turbo still attached.

I've taken the downpipe off with relatively minor difficulties; one stud left and it's turning, just not all the way out. Access to the wastegate is a little tight though. My biggest worry would be getting it properly cleaned out afterwards.

could you not put something inside which you could inflate (balloon) and cover in something sticky to catch the swarf then deflate and remove
