If the rattling is coming from the downpipe cannister just below the turbo, it could indicate the ceramic pre-cat substrate has fractured and is now blocking the exhaust. This thread discusses hollowing the precat. Unfortunately, the pictures no longer link, but imagine the entire cannister filled with honeycomb, partially fractured and rattling into position to block the exhaust flow and you get the idea. One of the posts even indicates the ceramic substrate can be removed from underneath without even removing the cannister.Return to Turbos, Boost, and Intakes
