Everest Chip for an S2

Hi There

Been lurking in the background for a while and have at last started looking at cars to buy . I am looking at an S2 on friday and was wondering about getting the car chipped to produce a few more horses.

From looking at previous theads i guess the everest chip seems to be a fravorite, will this fit ok on an S2? and roughly how much will it increase the power by. Also is the instillation a DIY job and roughly how much does the chip cost.

Any advice really appreciated, and lookforward to meeting a few of you at a meet when I find the right car.

Don't do the chip straight away. Get used to the car first and then you'll be even more amazed at the difference.

Have an Everest chip in my S2 along with a 2.25" exhaust and KN air filter and it Dyno'd at 205 BHP (flywheel) 175 BHP (wheels) when in Cat free form. Agree with the view that if you get the car drive it first to get used to it before you chip it, fit better front brakes before you chip it (look Here) and on an S2 in particular you will not get the full benefit of the Everest chip unless you fit a 2.25" or larger exhaust and do something about the Cats, I recomend doing away with the pre cat by fitting a 'stiffy' or having your exhaust made to eliminate the pre cat. I have the main cat refitted now for an MOT pass.

Thanks for the advice Nige about the brake upgrade, guess there is not much point in going faster if you can't stop.

Brakes first on the list me thinks. Then chip and exhaust time
