I opened the car today and the central locking went bananas...up down up down like a brides nighty...well about 3 or 4 time anyway....
anyway the plunger/lock doesnt work from the central locking now....the key doesnt work either...
I can push the plunger up and down to lock and unlock the door but the central locking or the key dont work.......
has something fallen off??....what do 'we' think????
it'll be next saturday before I can have a play with it son any info in the mean time would be much appreciated
thanks in advance

I have had a similar problem and I need a new lock mechanism (not the lock). Apparently they are impossible to get - does anyone have a spare one or know where I can get one?

Gareth,
see
http://lotuselancentral.com/forum/viewt ... highlight=
Notice the bit about the lock cycling as the electrical connection breaks down.
The strange thing about yours though is, the key which works mechanically, seems to have stopped working at the same time as the remote which works electronically.
It might be best to check all the permutations and the effect each one has, including whether the alarm light is coming on as the doors fail to lock.

Hi
I had exactly the same thing happen on my se. it turned out to be that on my passengers side lock mechanism the central locking/interior light switch module had broken away from the lock mechanism and was left switched in the open position so the central locking always thought the door was open and wouldnt set the cental locking. properly and would have a random fit that at one stage it locked the keys in the car!
I have temporarily glued the module and lock back together as both the screw tabs were broken (a very weak point of the design) hope that helps.
