Door window strip part numbers etc

I've read the various threads I can find but I'm not totally sure on what I need.

I want to replace the weather strips on both doors over the winter as they're cracked on the outside and the inner ones aren't in great shape either. Having a look at the various threads and the SJ parts list compared to my copy of the parts guide I see that I'll need an outer strip and an inner strip as well as the stick on brush strip. Anything else?

As far as the inner strip goes SJ only seem to have the ones for the later VIN cars. As my car is so early it must need the earlier type. Are the two so differnet that the later one couldn't be made to fit?

I rememebr someone on here sourced various bits and made their own strips. I can't find that thread though.
