Has anyone any idea how easy / complex it would be to modify the window / door mechanism to drop when the handle is activated?
Don't know if it is the correct term but I have heard it referred to as 'Drop Glass' on some cars. The basic principle is that the window is dropped half an inch or so when either the internal or external door handles are operated. This then returns to the fully up position when the door is closed, having the benefit of a good seal against, or under, the rubber hood seals.
As I have had my new S2 type hood fitted, the hood seals overlap the door glass slightly and can catch when opening or closing the doors. Thought this mod would rectify the problem if it is straightforward enough to do.
Anyone any thoughts or experiences?

Hi
The Vauxhall Astra Convertible uses this system.
You can get an "alarm" sytem that "closes" the door glass when you lock the car.
You would HAVE TO LOWER manaully the Glass. To do this if you have a
a large hand by placing the little finger and thumb on the switches you can LOWER BOTH windows in one GO.
You only need to lower a small amount.
You then have to remote lock the car with the Lotus Key and then use the fob of the "alarm" remote contol.
This will then make the glass on both doors move upwards towards the seal on the hood making a tight fit rather than resting against the rubber.
