Crankshaft Pulley

Postby mattdovey » Sat 26.09.2020, 17:30

Evening all,
Does anyone know if the crankshaft pulley is balanced to the crankshaft? Got a pulley that is now all nicely painted. Wont to swop it for the crusty one fitted to the car. I've noticed that the pulley has been balanced and wondered if the pulley was balanced to the crank. I don't want to fit the freshly painted one and find its adding vibration.

You can be pretty sure it wasn't.
It itself is balanced and it is on a keyed shaft so the manufacturing tolerance would be set so that they are interchangeable.

Pulley fitted. No differances noted. Thanks for the advise.

Apologies for resurrecting an old post, but does anyone know where I can get a crankshaft pulley for an SE turbo? I've done many trawls via Google and come up blank.
